DALC REBRANDS, BECOMES OWN BRAND
Started in the year 2003, DALC has over the last 7 years, evolved to become the face of Gift and Talent Testing as well as project-based examinations. We have challenged the education system in Africa and did not sit back awaiting miracles to happen. We have gone a step further and implemented the new education models.
Over this period, DALC rode on the shoulders of Cambridge and Oxford Associations of Management among other examination bodies, and this brought in the wrong impression that DALC was permanently connected to these two bodies. The real fact is that there was an agreement on 11th November 2004 that DALC adopts their curriculum but modifies it over 5 years to provide relevance to East and Central African Region. After this period DALC would take copyright of these curricular and go it alone. The 5 years ended on 11th November 2009 and DALC now takes copyright the curriculum and goes to baby DALC.
We now entrench our teaching model (known as the 60-30-30 teaching model, which provides interactive and participatory classroom environment) but candidates choose the examination body for module assessments or credit transfers.
We are therefore not fixed to any examination body as we will be teaching content but candidates decide based on many factors the examination body. For example, we will teach accounts, but you will decide to do examinations based on ACCA, CPA or CAM. This choice of examination body will be made based on whether you prefer written or project based examinations. It will further be the candidate’s consideration of fees due, and the efficiency of the process from the examination body. All partners have agreed to reduce fees to make their programmes and credit transfers more affordable.
Further, DALC has signed or engaged in new partnerships (related to new universities for credit transfers, Gift and Talent Testing, Research and Publications of projects in international journals, Life Skills, Soft skills, Career Fulfillment and Enrichment, Prometric Tests, Adult and Experiential Learning), which have all emerged to be strong and more relevant to answering the DALC Education philosophy “what is education today?”
We are completing partnership establishment with US universities so that our students from the various courses can have a wider choice of universities for credit transfers without travelling overseas and that this is to be done at not more than USD 1,000 for the said credit transfers. DALC is also gearing to become a university soon and a lot has been done towards this.
All these have produced a new face of DALC hence the need for rebranding to showcase DALC ON ITS OWN and more importantly to reflect the true situation where partners are mentioned but do not take prominence on our promotional materials. As a matter of fact many partners have requested for the same and we have agreed.
The rebranding will see us unveil a new logo, change signposts, change prospectus and website, etc , to reflect the new face of DALC.
