DALC Education hosts its Annual Sports Day

The drizzle of rain, cool temperatures and grey skies could not take away the excitement and anticipation of DALC Education Annual Sport Day and Weekend June 9-10, 2010 held at Splash-Carnivore in Nairobi. Students from all 13 campuses participated in activities that not only challenged their physical abilities but also sparked teamwork and friendship. There was a relaxed attitude among all students; a day to let loose and to forget for a brief moment their academic commitments and just have FUN!

More than 150 students came to participate in events such as swimming, relay races, basketball, volleyball, netball, and obstacle races.

However, the fun did not stop at Splash-Carnivore, from 6-8:30 p.m. DALC Education held its annual beauty pageant contest in which the reigning Miss and Mr. DALC relinquished the crown. The winners of this year’s pageant were students from 20th Century and Nairobi West Campuses, Miss DALC-Sabina Stadler and Mr. DALC-Edwin Nyaga. The night ended with entertainment from local artists Jua Kali and Wyre; students and the public were invited to enjoy and dance the night away.

To close the weekend in style, DALC students travelled to Crayfish-Naivasha for a weekend retreat on June 10, 2010. Students had the opportunity to further get to know each other from other campuses.

It is safe to say that all students who participated in all activities, cheered, and supported their classmates, will have fond memories of this weekend and will surely look forward to next year’s Sports Day.
