Examinations and Assessments

All DALC exams are practical (i.e. project-based) and done in real-world organizations. However, a candidate may opt for the usual and traditional age-old written examinations.

DALC usual practice is defined thus: “There is no examination that you will do in an examination hall where people who had memorized, would recall tutors onto foolscaps. The projects you do every month end, is the examination”.

Our focus is how you will apply acquired knowledge to identify problems/weakness, formulate solutions, and implement them in real world.

There are three levels of assessments per module:

  1. Assignments  - one per week i.e 4 per month, per module.
  2. Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs) – 1 per month, per module, due by 28th of the month of learning the module.
  3. Projects – 1st Draft (due on 10th of the month of module learning), 2nd Draft(due on 20th of the month of module learning) and Final Project (due on 28th of the month of module learning).

Assignments contribute 10% of the overall mark, CATs contribute 20% while Final project contributes 70%. 1st Draft and 2nd Draft projects do not contribute marks but are used as steps to enable a candidates fine-tune the projects under professional supervision.

There are many examining bodies and a student chooses the examining body as DALC is no longer fixed to a particular Examination body. We provide the learning using this unique model of education and different examining bodies have agreed with us to provide external assessment.

Do contact our campuses for more information about the same.

The following are the examination bodies usually assess our students based on their mode of examinations:

  • Association of Business Executives (ABE) – Written Examinations
  • Association of Chartered Certified Accountants  (ACCA) – Written Examinations
  • London Certified and Chartered Institute (LCCI) – Written Examinations
  • Institute of Commercial Management (ICM) – Written Examinations
  • Cambridge Association of Managers (CAM) – Project/Work/Research Based Assessments
  • Oxford Association of Management (OXIM – Project/Work/Research Based Assessments
4 new bodies will be added shortly

DALC is also looking forward to being a university soon and be added to the list
